In the framework of the joint project, SEC Biomass provides consulting services in the selection and implementation of projects. During the preparation of the projects, heat-producing and heat-supplying companies of Ukrainian cities, namely “Vinnycyamiskteploenergo”, “Siverodonetskteplokomunenergo”, “Kryvorizhteplomerezha”, “Ivano-Frankivskteplokomunenergo” and others were considered. They planned to implement energy-efficient activities such as replacement of the heating mains and the burners by the new ones, installation of the individual heating units and biofuel boilers, etc. On completion of the analyses of the companies’ overall performance, the volume of the heat production and selling, condition and technical characteristics of the heat generating equipment and heat networks were determined, the assessment of the energy efficiency time history, including heat losses during generation and transportation, was conducted. The tariff structure and the financial condition of the companies were considered. The possible sources of feedstock and biofuels suppliers were examined for the projects related to the biofuel boilers implementation. At the following stages of the project, it is planned to introduce energy-saving measures selected for the funding.
